Hamish Bassett is an emerging Melbourne-based artist who makes miniature pottery. After a career in digital media design and animation, Hamish discovered pottery in 2019 and quickly realised he had a love of working with clay.
Hamish can be found at many design and craft events in Melbourne and Canberra. He has grown over 150K followers on Instagram who have fallen for his tiny pots online.
United Kingdom (Britain) based modern miniatures magazine Shrunk, featured Hamish in their printed issue in 2021.
In 2022, National Television broadcaster ABC Arts featured Hamish in an episode of Tiny Oz. In January 2023, Hamish was selected as a finalist in the Small Works Art Prize at Brunswick Street Gallery in Melbourne. In May 2024, Hamish participated in a group exhibition with Co-Craft for Melbourne Design Week. In late August, Hamish was selected as one of 32 international artists in the coffee table book Clayful: the Big World of Tiny Ceramics by Sophia Cai. In September/October of 2024, Hamish featured in an invited group exhibition 8 | Connections at Gallery of Small Things in Canberra.
